A Wet Day in Lock Haven - Brienne M Brown

A Wet Day in Lock Haven - Brienne M Brown

I have found that it is good to be adaptable when plein air painting. If you want to paint on location you don't always have the luxury to pick good weather days, especially in a wet part of the world. You paint when you can. This day in Lock Haven, PA was one of those wet days. I found a good awning to stand under and enjoyed the atmosphere of the day!

Speaking of Signs - Brienne M Brown

Speaking of Signs - Brienne M Brown

This painting was inspired by my one day trip to New York City. It was my first visit and I was in awe the entire trip. I had never seen so many people and there were signs everywhere. Though this was not painted on location, I hope to return to plein air paint someday.

Autumn Cypress - Brienne M Brown

Autumn Cypress - Brienne M Brown

This painting is unique in this exhibition in that there are no figures. But, I feel in love with these Cyprus trees while painting with a painting friend of mine, Sarah Yeoman in Delaware, US. The color of these trees are so beautiful in the Fall and they are so unique.

Embraced with Memories - Brienne M Brown

Embraced with Memories - Brienne M Brown

This is a very special painting for me. A friend of mine was showing me this greenhouse where her late husband had worked. It was as if she was visiting old friends she hadn't seen in a while. Memories are powerful and can be a wonderful comfort to us when we have lost someone we love.

Autumn Alley - Brienne M Brown

Autumn Alley - Brienne M Brown

A friend of mine and I were exploring Lock Haven, PA to find a place to paint. We found this fantastic alley with a wonderful green building. We did not end up painting at this location, but I took several photos and have several paintings in mind depicting this alleyway.

Morning Stroll to the Patch - Brienne M Brown

Morning Stroll to the Patch - Brienne M Brown

This is painting celebrating the Autumn time! This is a beautiful farm that is near me and the pumpkins were doing well. I used a specific palette here to get that warm feeling of Fall! I simply love Fall in the Eastern United States!

Stroll Up Front Street - Brienne M Brown

Stroll Up Front Street - Brienne M Brown

Nothing is better than a leisurely walk with your dog. No matter where you live, it can be fun. This is a street in Harrisburg where I was able to paint on location. However, this painting is inspired from that painting. The old train bridge was what I loved about this scene.

Late Fall at Barree Forge - Brienne M Brown

Late Fall at Barree Forge - Brienne M Brown

This Autumn has been fabulous in Pennsylvania or Eastern America! The colors have been fantastic and the temperature great. This is an old historic farm called the "Barree Forge" in central PA. This old white barn with the attached out buildings is so fun to paint. I have painted here many times.
