Tuğçe Arıöz
Artists: Tuğçe Arıöz
Tuğçe Arıöz creates enigmatic visual worlds in which memory, intuition, dreams, and the subconscious merge with fragments of reality. Her works resist straightforward narratives, bringing together human figures, natural forms, cultural symbols, and unexpected transformations in images that feel at once familiar and strangely displaced. Moving between the visible and the imagined, Arıöz explores states of perception in which boundaries become fluid and seemingly unrelated elements begin to form new connections. There is a distinctly cinematic quality to her imagery: each work appears like a fragment of a larger story whose meaning remains deliberately open.
Underlying Arıöz’s practice is a fascination with imperfection, uncertainty, and the space between control and chance. Traditional painting, photography, digital manipulation, video, and artificial intelligence become different means of pursuing the same artistic vision rather than ends in themselves. Instead of seeking flawless images, she is drawn to disruptions, coincidences, and unexpected transformations — moments in which something unforeseen can emerge. Her art invites viewers into a layered world where personal and collective memory, nature and technology, reality and imagination continually intersect, suggesting that what cannot be fully explained may be precisely where new meanings begin.
