Herma Weerstand
Artists: Herma Weerstand (HermArte)
Herma Weerstand (1966) is a Dutch contemporary artist living and working in Harderwijk, the Netherlands.
Drawing and painting have been part of her life from an early age. While building a career as an office manager, she continued to develop her artistic practice, combining formal education at the Wackers Academy in Amsterdam and the Classical Academy of Art in Groningen with years of independent study. This combination of academic training and self-directed exploration has shaped her distinctive artistic voice.
Over the past two years, Herma has devoted herself more fully to painting. Working primarily in oil, she creates works that invite the viewer to slow down and appreciate the quiet beauty found in everyday life. Flowers, still lifes and figurative subjects frequently appear in her work, balancing realism with a subtle sense of atmosphere and emotion. Rather than seeking spectacle, her paintings offer a feeling of calm, hope and timelessness.
Through HermArte, Herma creates original paintings for collectors who value craftsmanship, authenticity and meaningful art. Her paintings are intended not only to enrich an interior, but also to create a lasting sense of warmth, beauty and quiet reflection.
