Artists: Alex Krull

The artist Alex Krull paints water. The continuum of her pictorial composition is the contrast between the strict geometry of swimming pools and the organically flowing movement of the water distorting all shapes, straight lines and angles into playful figures, creating a unique complex aesthetic that is not reproducible in reality. Painting however does not have these limitations which is why Alex Krull’s artwork managest o capture these fleeting moments. Fundamental pictoral elements are the random forms, almost ornamental, that are familiar, yet rarely truly perceived. Alex Krulls zeroes is on precisely these multifaceted instances in her paintings, but without wanting to point anything out. She leaves room for one’s own interpretation while distancing herself from any explanantions. "My work has no deeper meaning, I am only concerned with aesthetics. That may appear to be superficial and is intended to be just that.“ Seeing, observing, immersing oneself. That is precisely what it’s all about.
