Alessandro Marziano

Artists: Alessandro Marziano

Alessandro Marziano's works are the expression of a wise connection between the tradition of "good painting" and the suffered spirit of our time, they are the result of an incessant comparison between continuity and change. Tradition and innovation come together as they manage to merge the acute observation of his gaze on reality with the indispensable emotional contribution of his heart. The result is paintings of rare and surprising beauty, certainly connected to the existential realism of Ferroni, Banchieri, Vespignani, but unique in the reading of a "hyperreality" of the eye and soul, unique as unique and singular is the emotion that guides Martian's hand.
His cycle of works, which we could define as "The solitude of things", impeccably clarifies the concept of a painting as emotion and truth of objects: a torn cardboard packaging is the background of a rose held up by a little ribbon paper; another rose, preserved as a relic of all withered loves, comes out of an envelope never sent; yet another envelope (or perhaps the same?) hangs on a peeling wall and its chiaroscuro alludes to a light source outside the painting. And things no longer only depict themselves. They become something else: reality and memory, symbol, metaphor.
